G'day guys, Dan here from The Clutch Hub. I'm just here today to run through the single-mass heavy-duty clutch kit and flywheel conversion for Mazda BT-50 and Ford Ranger models.

This single-mass conversion kit fits:

• Ford Ranger (PJ & PK models): Equipped with the 2.5L WEAT and 3.0L WLAT turbo-diesel engines (2006 to 2011).

• Mazda BT-50 (UN model): Equipped with the same 2.5L and 3.0L turbo-diesel engine variants (2006 to 2011).

Why Convert to a Single-Mass Flywheel (SMF)?

Converting from the original Dual-Mass Flywheel (DMF) to a Solid-Mass Flywheel (SMF) has become extremely popular in Australia over the last 15 to 20 years. This is primarily due to its lower price point and superior durability—it is much stronger than a dual-mass setup. This is one of our best-selling conversion kits.

What’s Included in the Kit? (Part Number: BMZ-9252-SMF)

• Solid Mass Flywheel (SMF): A solid, single-piece steel flywheel. It comes complete with the ring gear pre-installed and the tone wheel etched directly into the back. There's no extra preparation needed—simply unbolt the factory dual-mass flywheel and bolt this single-mass unit straight up.

• Pressure Plate Bolts: Brand-new pressure plate bolts featuring serrated lock heads to grip securely.

  Installation Tip: We recommend using Loctite 243 on these bolts during installation.

• Sprung-Center Heavy-Duty Clutch Disc: When converting to a single-mass flywheel, the clutch disc must feature internal damping springs to absorb engine vibrations previously handled by the dual-mass flywheel. This high-quality friction plate uses premium German LUK material.

• Heavy-Duty Pressure Plate: Features an upgraded diaphragm spring to provide extra clamping force compared to a standard factory clutch. This gives a much better bite and torque transfer without an overly heavy pedal feel.

• Release Bearing & Carrier Assembly: Comes complete with the pre-assembled carrier unit, eliminating the need to press old bearings on or off. It is ready to slide directly onto the clutch fork.

• Spigot Bearing: A brand-new pilot/spigot bearing is included. Replacing this is a critical step whenever doing a clutch installation.

• Clutch Alignment Tool: Included to help center the clutch disc accurately during mounting.

• Technical Support & Guide: Includes basic fitment instructions and a direct technical hotline phone number to assist mechanics if any questions arise during installation.
