Good morning, guys. This is Chris from The Clutch Hub. Today, I thought we might take a look at a Blusteele clutch kit to suit a V8 Commodore. This is for the 6.0L LS engine family.

The specific Blusteele clutch kit we are looking at today is the BGM-9723-PT2. This is part of our PowerTorque range, featuring an organic clutch plate.

What’s Included in the Kit?

The Blusteele kit for these Commodores comes completely packed with everything you need to do the job:

• Billet Steel Flywheel: An extremely high-quality flywheel made of billet steel. It comes complete with the ring gear and Blusteele's signature "claw grooving." It is also a slightly lightened flywheel for improved throttle response.

• Flywheel Bolts: A brand-new set of flywheel bolts is included.

  Crucial LS Engine Note: On these LS engines, the flywheel bolt holes thread directly into the oil galleries. You must apply a liberal amount of thread locker/sealer (like Loctite) to these bolts. This locks them in place and seals the oil galleries so engine oil doesn't leak through onto your brand-new clutch.

• 300mm Clutch Plate: A very high-quality, 300mm sprung-center clutch disc featuring premium LUK friction material.

• Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC): Comes complete with a new steel connection pipe and fittings.

  Important CSC Warning: Never compress or operate a new concentric slave cylinder by hand before installation, and ensure you strictly follow the correct bleeding procedure.

• Clutch Alignment Tool: Included to help you properly align the clutch disc during assembly.

• Pressure Plate Bolts & Durlock Washers: Includes six new pressure plate bolts paired with special Durlock washers. Because the mounting face on these flywheels can be thin, it is prone to flexing, which can cause standard bolts to work loose. These specialized Durlock washers lock themselves firmly in place to prevent backing out.

• Spigot Bearing: A new roller spigot bearing is included. This is a highly unique feature for VE V8 Commodore kits—most standard kits on the market do not include this expensive bearing, but Blusteele includes it in the box.

• SGI Iron Pressure Plate: The final component is a heavy-duty, high-clamp pressure plate made from SGI (Spheroidal Graphite) cast iron. Because this is a PowerTorque kit, it provides significantly higher clamping force while maintaining great drivability.

Summary

As you can see, this Blusteele PowerTorque kit is completely comprehensive for a V8 Commodore clutch replacement. It comes with all the specialty bolts, the hard-to-find spigot bearing, the alignment tool, and everything else you need to get the job done right the first time.
