The particular model Patrol we're talking about today is the GQ Patrol, fitted with the 4.2L TB42 6-cylinder petrol engine.

This specific kit is part of Blusteele's Survivor Series—their high-performance, upgraded 4WD range.

• Survivor Series High-Clamp Pressure Plate: A burst-proof, high-clamp pressure plate designed for heavy-duty 4WD applications.

  A Note on Pedal Effort: Although this is a high-clamp pressure plate, it will not increase pedal effort for the driver. Blusteele achieves the higher clamping force by altering the internal pivot point inside the cover assembly, preserving comfortable foot pressure.

• Multi-Rate Heavy-Duty Clutch Disc: A sprung-center clutch disc using high-quality LUK organic friction material. It features a multi-rate sprung center designed to dampen and absorb drivetrain and gear rollover rattle.

• Thrust Bearing (Release Bearing): A brand-new replacement thrust bearing.

  Installation Tip: This application requires pressing the old bearing off your original carrier and pressing the new bearing on. A replacement carrier is not included in the box—you reuse your existing original carrier.

• Spigot Bush: Includes a brand-new brass spigot bush. Unlike models that use a roller bearing, the TB42 Nissan Patrol utilizes a solid brass pilot bush.

• Durlock Pressure Plate Bolts: Includes a full set of 12 high-tensile Durlock pressure plate bolts with wedge-locking features to ensure they do not back out under severe vibration.

• Clutch Alignment Tool: Supplied to assist with accurate centering during installation.

Crucial Installation Tip: Go Easy on the Grease

When fitting this (or any) clutch kit, be extremely sparing with grease:

• Apply only a minimal smear of grease to the gearbox input shaft splines, inside the clutch disc hub, and on the spigot bush.

• Excess grease will be flung outward by centrifugal force as the clutch spins, contaminating the friction surfaces of the pressure plate and clutch disc, causing slippage.
