Good morning, guys. Today, I'd like to have a look at something pretty special. It's a Blusteele clutch kit for a Nissan Patrol.

The particular model we're looking at today is the GU Patrol equipped with the RD28ETi engine—the 2.8L 6-cylinder turbo diesel, which ran from 1998 to 2001.

These vehicles came from the factory with a dual-mass flywheel (DMF). Blusteele has developed a complete single-mass conversion kit to convert the system over to a solid flywheel setup.

This kit is part of Blusteele's top-tier Survivor Series off-road range:

• Billet Chromoly Flywheel: A heavy, high-quality 4140/4145 billet Chromoly flywheel complete with a pre-installed ring gear. As part of the Survivor Series, it features integrated radial cooling grooves on the friction surface to prevent clutch overheating under load. You simply unbolt and remove the factory dual-mass flywheel and replace it with this solid unit.

  Installation Tip: Blusteele specifies that you reuse your original existing flywheel bolts when mounting this new flywheel.

• SGI Iron Heavy-Duty Pressure Plate: An upgraded cover assembly made from SGI (Spheroidal Graphite) cast iron. It provides a significantly higher clamp load for heavy towing and off-road use, but uses altered internal pivot points to ensure the pedal remains light and comfortable for the driver.

• Sprung-Center Clutch Disc: Since this kit converts the vehicle to a solid flywheel, the clutch disc features a heavy-duty sprung center to dampen engine vibration. It uses premium German LUK organic friction material.

  Handling Tip: Handle the friction material on the clutch disc as little as possible during installation. The oils from your hands can contaminate the friction surface, so try not to touch the disc faces directly.

• Thrust Bearing (Release Bearing): A brand-new release bearing is included.

  Installation Tip: You will reuse your existing original carrier—simply press the old bearing off your carrier unit and press this new replacement bearing on.

• Brass Spigot Bush: Includes a brand-new solid brass spigot/pilot bush (the RD28ETi Nissan Patrol utilizes a brass bush rather than a roller bearing).

• Durlock Pressure Plate Bolts: Includes a complete set of high-tensile pressure plate bolts with specialized Durlock wedge-locking washers to prevent bolts from vibrating loose.

• Clutch Alignment Tool: Supplied to assist with accurate centering during installation.
