Hi, this is Chris from The Clutch Hub. Today, I'd like to have a look at a Blusteele clutch kit to suit a Toyota Hilux.

This kit fits the KUN16 (2WD) and KUN26 (4WD) Toyota Hilux models powered by the popular 3.0L Turbo-Diesel (1KD-FTV) engine.

Important: 260mm vs. 275mm Factory Clutches

Toyota used two different clutch sizes across the production run of these vehicles:

• Pre-2008 Models: Fitted with a 260 mm clutch plate (Standard Replacement Part Number: BTA-9239).

• Post-2008 Models: Factory upgraded to a larger 275 mm clutch plate (Standard Replacement Part Number: BTA-9243).

Note: If your Hilux was built during the transition year of 2008, it is best to check the specific build month to confirm which size was originally fitted.

The Universal 275mm Upgrade Solution (Part Number: BTA-9276-SS)

What we are featuring today is Blusteele’s complete Survivor Series conversion kit that covers the entire KUN16 / KUN26 range:

• For Early (260mm) Models: Upgrades your vehicle to the larger, stronger 275 mm clutch system.

• For Later (275mm) Models: Serves as a heavy-duty 275 mm upgrade kit featuring a brand-new upgraded solid flywheel.

What’s Included in the Survivor Series Kit

• Billet Chromoly Solid Flywheel: Precision CNC-machined 4140/4145 billet Chromoly flywheel complete with new pressure plate locator dowels and Blusteele's signature Survivor Series radial claw-grooving on the friction face for improved heat dissipation and gas venting off-road.

  Flywheel Bolts: Blusteele specifies that you reuse your original existing flywheel bolts when installing this new flywheel.

• Encapsulated Spring Clutch Disc: Premium sprung-center clutch disc using German LUK organic friction material with a unique multi-rate damper hub. The heavy-duty torsional springs are completely encapsulated in the hub structure, preventing spring pop-out failures under extreme loads while keeping drivetrain noise low.

• Thrust Bearing & Carrier Assembly: Includes a brand-new release bearing pre-installed on a new carrier assembly, eliminating the need to press old bearings off existing carriers.

• SGI Iron Heavy-Duty Pressure Plate: Upgraded SGI (Spheroidal Graphite) cast iron cover featuring a burst-proof cover design for maximum clamping force and high-RPM safety in severe 4WD conditions.

• Spigot Bearing: Includes a new replacement pilot/spigot bearing.

• Durlock Pressure Plate Bolts: Complete set of high-tensile pressure plate bolts with Durlock wedge-locking washers.

• Clutch Alignment Tool: Supplied for accurate centering during installation.
