Good morning, guys. Today we're looking at a clutch kit for a Volkswagen Amarok.

The vehicle we are talking about today is the 2.0L Turbo-Diesel VW Amarok (2H series, including TDI340 and TDI400 engine variants).

These Amaroks come from the factory equipped with a Dual-Mass Flywheel (DMF). Blusteele’s solution is a complete Single-Mass Flywheel (SMF) conversion kit that converts the vehicle over to a solid flywheel setup.

What’s Included in the Conversion Kit

• Billet Chromoly Solid Flywheel: A premium quality 4140/4145 billet Chromoly flywheel, fully powder-coated except on the machined friction surfaces. Features Blusteele's signature Survivor Series radial claw-grooves for heat dissipation and gas venting. Simply unbolt the original dual-mass flywheel and bolt this solid flywheel directly in its place.

  Flywheel Fasteners: Unlike many Japanese applications, this kit includes new flywheel bolts. Always apply threadlocker (Loctite) and torque them strictly to factory specifications during assembly.

• Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC) / Release Bearing: Includes a brand-new combined hydraulic Concentric Slave Cylinder and thrust bearing unit.

  CSC Handling Caution

  Never actuate or compress the Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC) dry by hand prior to installation. Bolt the CSC directly into the transmission housing dry, hook up the hydraulic line, and follow the standard bench/system bleeding procedure.

• Sprung-Center Clutch Disc: Premium organic friction disc featuring German LUK friction material and dual-stage damper springs engineered to absorb engine harmonics when replacing a dual-mass flywheel.

• SGI Iron Heavy-Duty Pressure Plate: Upgraded SGI (Spheroidal Graphite) cast iron cover assembly providing extra clamping force. Internal pivot geometry is re-engineered so the increased clamping power does not increase clutch pedal effort for the driver.

• Needle Roller Spigot Bearing: Includes a brand-new, fully enclosed needle roller spigot/pilot bearing specific to the VW 2.0L crankshaft.

• Pressure Plate Bolts: Includes a set of high-tensile pressure plate bolts.

• Clutch Alignment Tool: Supplied for accurate centering during assembly.

Critical Installation Tip: Flywheel Fitment

Crankshaft Fitment Note

The tolerance between the new billet flywheel central bore and the Volkswagen crankshaft flange is engineered to be exceptionally tight.

• The flywheel is a precise machined interference fit on the rear crankshaft nose.

• It can feel quite firm to push on by hand; you may need to use the flywheel bolts evenly in a cross-pattern to gently pull the flywheel flush against the crankshaft flange.

• This tight tolerance is normal and necessary for accurate flywheel centering.
